Pastries and Biscuits Sold Nationwide Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergens—Here's What to Know

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of Ülker Brand snack rolls, biscuits, and wafers because they may contain undeclared allergens, including wheat, egg, and/or milk.

The recall was initiated by ZB Importing LLC and impacts six products produced by the company. Per the FDA: "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat, egg, or milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products." The issue was discovered following a complaint from a customer who had an allergic reaction to one of the products. The supplier inadvertently failed to fully disclose all allergens while translating the ingredient list, according to the FDA. ZB Importing LLC is currently working with the supplier to implement stricter labeling controls and an additional verification process for multilingual labels.

The impacted products were distributed to retail stores in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Colorado, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
