Pancakes Recalled in 13 States Due to Allergy Risk—Here's What to Know

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of 694 cases of Berry Buddies, Berries & Pancakes bento box snack packs because they may contain undeclared wheat and eggs. Those with allergies to these ingredients run the risk of having an allergic reaction when consuming the product.

Naturipe Value Added Fresh LLC. of Alma, Georgia, initiated the recall. The product was distributed at Kroger and Meijer retail locations in Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, Minnesota, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Mississippi, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The recalled product was packaged in 2.1-ounce colored plastic containers. A lot code of #1097901 and an expiration date of February 25, 2025, can be found on the packaging. The Berry Buddies, Berries & Pancakes snack packs were typically found in the refrigerated, produce, or deli sections of grocery stores.

The recall was initiated following the discovery of an incorrect label placed on the back of the package. The issue has since been corrected and no illnesses have been reported following the consumption of the product.

Since the expiration date has not passed, the product may still be in consumers' refrigerators. Those with a wheat or egg sensitivity or allergy should throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
