So far, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported. According to the Mayo Clinic, milk allergy symptoms can occur a few minutes to a few hours after a person drinks milk or eats milk products. Immediate symptoms can include hives, wheezing, itching, or a tingling feeling around the lips or mouth, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, coughing or shortness of breath, and vomiting. A serious milk allergy can also cause anaphylaxis, a life-threatening reaction that narrows the airways and can block breathing.
If you purchased the recalled burgers and have an allergy or sensitivity to milk, do not consume them. Discard the burgers or return them to Publix for a full refund. For questions, contact DiLuigi Foods at 978-750-9900.
