If you recently purchased salmon from Aldi, check your fridge and freezer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall of Atlantic salmon portions with seafood stuffing from Aldi due to an undeclared soy allergen.

The recall was voluntarily initiated on May 24, 2025. The affected Atlantic salmon came from Santa Monica Seafood in Rancho Dominguez, California, and was distributed in Aldi store locations across Arizona, California, and Nevada. During a routine inspection, the supplier discovered that the packaging does not list soy as an ingredient, which is a common allergy, posing a life-threatening risk for consumers. According to the FDA, no illnesses have been reported.

The product details are below and can be found on the white portion of the label located on the front of the package:

  • Product name: Atlantic salmon portions with seafood stuffing
  • Brand: Aldi
  • Size: 16oz
  • Use/Freeze By Date: June 2, 2025

Consumers who purchased the recalled salmon from Aldi can return the product to the store for a full refund. Consumers with questions or concerns may contact Santa Monica Seafood by calling 1-800-969-8862, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST.
