Check your fridge. Dairy manufacturer Lactalis Canada of Toronto has issued a recall of Aldi's Specially Selected brand Vanilla Crème Brûlée dessert because it may contain foreign objects, specifically glass, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The dessert is packaged in single-serve 3.6-ounce glass jars and was sold in stores in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, and Virginia.

To identify the recalled product, look for this information on the packaging:

  • Best before/Use by date: 5/9/2026
  • Product number: 710298-4099100342826
  • Barcode: 4099100342826

The recall has been classified as Class II by the FDA, meaning that the products can "cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences."

Some physical contaminants in food can pose serious health hazards to consumers, according to the FDA, including laceration and perforation of tissues of the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach, and intestine, as well as damage to the teeth and gums.

If you purchased the recalled dessert, throw it away or return it to Aldi for a refund.
