- Beacon Promotions is recalling certain repackaged Peanut M&M’s and classic M&M’s sold in promotional packaging because they may contain undeclared allergens, including milk, soy, and peanuts. The recall affects products distributed in more than 20 states and involves over 6,300 total units.
- The recalled items include Peanut M&M’s with “Make Your Mark” labels and specific lot codes, as well as classic M&M’s packaged for corporate and event branding tied to companies like Subaru, Adobe, and Morgan Stanley. Consumers are urged to check lot codes and best-by dates to determine if their products are affected.
- The FDA has classified the recall as Class II, meaning the products could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects, particularly for people with food allergies. Consumers with allergies or sensitivities are advised not to eat the recalled M&Ms and to discard them immediately.
Beacon Promotions of Eagan, Minnesota, is recalling some of its repackaged M&M's products because of undeclared allergens, according to two separate notices from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall includes 1.3-ounce clear plastic packs of Peanut M&M’s and classic M&M’s sold in various branded promotional packaging in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The recalled Peanut M&M’s have “Make Your Mark” labels, a lot code of M1823200, and a best-by date of 4/30/2026. This recall includes 541 units.
The recalled classic M&M’s were distributed in multiple promotional formats, including corporate and event branding such as Subaru, Adobe, Morgan Stanley, Best Western, Dropbox DocSend, and Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Companies. Check the FDA notice for a full list of company names. A total of 5,788 units is involved in this recall.
The affected lot codes and best-by dates for the classic M&Ms packs include:
- L450ARCLV03 with best-by date of 12/1/2025
- L502FLHKP01 with best-by date of 1/1/2026
- L523CMHKP01 with best-by date of 6/30/2026
- L537GMHKP01 with best-by date of 9/1/2026
The M&Ms may contain milk, soy, and peanuts, but the product packaging does not list the required allergen warnings. According to Food Allergy Research & Education, allergic reactions to soy are typically mild and produce symptoms such as hives, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and itching, but reactions can be unpredictable.

A peanut allergy produces similar symptoms and is also the most common cause of anaphylaxis in relation to foods, which can be life threatening, according to the Mayo Clinic. There's also a risk of anaphylaxis with a milk allergy.
If you experience severe allergic reaction symptoms, such as trouble breathing, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. If you have the repackaged M&Ms and are allergic or have sensitivities to any of these ingredients, do not eat them and throw them out.
The FDA has classified the recall as Class II, meaning that the supplements may cause "temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences."
