If you recently bought cookies at Target, check the label. Canadian company Give and Go Prepared Foods Corp. has recalled over 800 cases of its Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies due to possible wood contamination, according to a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The cookies were distributed to Target stores across the country and come in packages of 10. The affected cookies have the UPC 85239-41250 3, lot number 25195, and various best-by dates that were applied by the store.

The recalled items were distributed from three centers located in Connecticut, Maryland, and Ohio to stores in Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, and Vermont.

The FDA currently classifies the recall as Class II, meaning that the recalled food "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences."

A Target spokesperson stated to Newsweek: "At Target, we're committed to providing high quality and safe products for our guests. Following the voluntary recall initiated by Give and Go Prepared Food Corps, Target has removed all impacted Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies, 10 count, from stores and online. If guests previously purchased these products, they can call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 for a full refund."

If you have the recalled cookies, do not eat them. Instead, throw them away or contact Target for a refund.
