Check your pantry. Regional grocery chain Wegmans has issued a recall alert for bags of rice sold at its stores due to the "possible presence of foreign material."

Here is the affected product information:

  • Lundberg Organic Jasmine White Rice, two-pound bags
    UPC: 073416- 040281
    Best-by dates and lot codes: 02/01/2027, 260201 and 02/02/2027, 260202

This is part of a bigger recall issued, out of an abundance of caution, by Richvale, California-based Lundberg Family Farms of approximately 4,500 cases of 2-pound Regenerative Organic Certified White Jasmine Rice pouches "due to the possible presence of foreign material," the company confirmed to USA Today. It's been classified as a Class II recall, meaning that the chance of "serious adverse health consequences is remote."

The rice is also sold at other retailers, including Walmart and Whole Foods, in addition to Wegmans, but it's unclear where the affected product was distributed.

According to the company, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.

If you bought the rice from a Wegmans location, you can return it to the grocer for a full refund. For questions, contact Wegmans Food Markets at 1-855-934-3663 daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST.
