Strawberry Jam Recalled Over Ingredient That Could Be Harmful, FDA Warns

If you put jam on your toast every morning, check the label. Mangalm LLC is recalling its fruit and strawberry jam products because they may contain an unapproved color additive that poses health concerns to consumers, according to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall affects Tops Mixed Fruit Jam and Tops Strawberry Jam products with the batch number 4F1101 and best-before date of October 6, 2026. The products were distributed to Utah, Portland, Washington, and California.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated because the products contain carmoisine, which is an unapproved color additive. In lieu of the recall, the company has ceased distribution of the fruit and strawberry jam products, and they will be immediately removed from shopping shelves.
