Frozen vegetables are an easy and delicious way to work extra nutrients into your meals. But if you have a bag in your freezer, make sure you check the label before turning the vegetables into a stir fry or pot pie.

Endico Potatoes of Mount Vernon, NY, is recalling some of its frozen vegetable products because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The items were packed in frozen 2.5-pound clear plastic bags with the Endico label. The affected products include peas and carrots with lot code 110625, production date 6/11/25, and use-by date 6/10/27 and mixed vegetables with lot code 170625, production date 6/17/25, and use-by date 6/16/27. The lot codes are printed on the side of the bags.

The recalled products were distributed to retailers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Florida between July 18 and August 4.

The frozen products tested positive for Listeria after sampling was done by the state of Pennsylvania. No illnesses related to the recall have been reported so far. The FDA warns that Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems.

Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women, the agency noted in its announcement.

If you purchased Endico brand peas and carrots or mixed vegetables, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For any questions, contact Endico at 1-800-431-1398.
