"We know a little bit about weddings," Martha said during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, where she volunteered her wedding planning services to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, adding that she would "happily advise" them. She says that she's heard that the nuptials will be a private affair, and "rightfully so," she adds. "They're charming, they're savvy, they know what they're doing." While Martha is against any football-themed wedding decor, she did say that Kelce-autographed footballs "wouldn't be a bad going-away gift" for guests. Known for her polished, effortlessly chic style, our founder sat down with the television show at Fashionphile's New York City flagship store to celebrate the debut of the company's new coffee table book, The Book of Iconic Bags, and her headline-grabbing looks. The book showcases a definitive list of the 25 most influential bags of all time, which includes the Hermès Birkin bag Martha carried to court during her highly publicized 2004 trial. While viewing the image of herself that's featured in the book, Martha says, "There I am in the worst time of my life carrying my most beautiful handbag, a Birkin by Hermès. But I look okay." It was spacious enough to hold everything she needed for court. Inside, she says she stashed her lipstick, blush, tissues, a pad of paper and pencil or pen, and her Fracas perfume. Phones and cameras weren't allowed in the courtroom. She also says, "If you amortize the cost of the bag over the number of years that I have used it, it's really a very inexpensive purchase." Martha says she still uses the Birkin, but says now her handbag is her phone and Bandolier case where she keeps her credit cards, Global Entry pass, passport card, her license, and a $100 bill "in case of emergencies."
