As most pet owners will attest, cats are known for their laid-back lounging abilities, not for running laps. But a 3-year-old cat in New York City named Archie is proving them wrong.

Last month, Mariah Sola (@mariah.sola), the owner of the feline, started sharing clips on TikTok of the cat running on a treadmill, with social media users immediately cheering on the track star. Sola's most popular video currently has 43.1 million views.

"It honestly made me laugh—he looked so focused, like he had somewhere important to be," Sola told PEOPLE about the first time he hopped on the treadmill.

She continued, adding that the cat was used to being outside, but when the weather became unpredictable, the indoor treadmill was a way for him to stay active.

In one of the videos, Sola explains that she never actually trained her cat to use the at-home fitness equipment; he just followed her footprints. He now meows when he wants to work out.

Archie is even inspiring the humans who are watching him to hit the gym too, with many commenting as much on the viral videos. "The funny ones stand out—like people saying, 'Okay Archie, fine, I’ll get on the treadmill,' or joking that he has more motivation for a summer body than they do," she told PEOPLE. "I love that people are finding humor and even a little motivation in it."
