Color of the Year season is officially here! The most recent announcement comes from Valspar, which has chosen Warm Eucalyptus 8004-28F, a restorative green hue with warm undertones, as its 2026 Color of the Year.

"Warm Eucalyptus is more than just a beautiful shade of green; it's a reflection of the comfort we crave in our homes," says Sue Kim, director of color marketing at Valspar. "Its warm undertones create a grounded, welcoming mood while drawing inspiration from nature and the familiarity of retro design. This is a color that encourages restoration and resilience."

Praised for its versatility, Warm Eucalyptus has the power to transform interior and exterior spaces. You can use it to elevate kitchen cabinetry or make your home's siding feel more inviting. "The warmth of this green hue lends itself to color-drenching spaces where you’d like to exude serenity, such as a bathroom," Kim adds.

To help consumers incorporate Warm Eucalyptus throughout their spaces, Valspar has selected a few complementary colors to pair it with—Groundbreaking 8005-8F, a cozy deep brown with gray undertones, and Degas Blue 8004-35B, a light blue warmed by hints of green and gray.

"Use Warm Eucalyptus as the main feature in a room complemented by Groundbreaking 8005-8F to signal comfort, such as living rooms and reading nooks," Kim says. "To add a playful touch to a space, like a bedroom, hallway, or office, consider painting the lower two-thirds of the wall in Warm Eucalyptus and painting the top third in complementary Degas Blue 8004-35B. The breezy, light hue will draw your eye upward while the cozy Warm Eucalyptus grounds you in the space."

Warm Eucalyptus is available exclusively at Lowe's stores, on Lowes.com, and the Lowe's mobile app. If you prefer to shop local, Valspar recommends Sage Slate V143-5, a comparable color available at independent home improvement retailers nationwide.
