Inspired by natural hues and calming experiences, Dunn-Edwards has announced its 2026 Color Trends of the Year. The curated palette features nine trending shades and eight neutral shades designed to encourage creative expression and create livable, harmonious spaces.

The collection was created with designers, specifiers, and DIYers in mind and offers versatile color options for any space. The collection began with spotlight hues such as Country Air (DET581), Gothic Revival Green (DET507), and Purple Prose (DET405), each reflecting an uplifting, timeless feel. To balance these bolder shades, the notable neutrals palette introduces warm tones such as Fleur de Sel (DEGR55), Outer Boundary (DE6021), and Milk Glass (DEW358).

“Historically, Dunn-Edwards has released an expansive palette for its annual Color Trends," said Lauren Hoferkamp, color marketing manager at Dunn-Edwards. "This year, we’ve decided to curate a more streamlined version designed to better resonate with consumers and seamlessly complement a wide range of design styles. By combining trending colors with notable neutrals, this collection offers both inspiration and practicality, making it easier to create cohesive and livable spaces.”

To decide on its annual trends, Dunn-Edwards researched emerging trends in home furnishing and interior design. The company found that consumers are moving away from the bold, high contrast hues and toward softer, calming palettes. According to the release, this shift in design reflects a desire for more tranquility in a fast-paced, technology-driven world. "In turn, we’ll see bold, high-contrast hues give way to softer, more nuanced color palettes in 2026," the statement said.

The 2025 Color Trends provide fresh inspiration for projects of any scale. Spotlight hues can be used as bold accents or dynamic statements, while neutrals balance the collection or stand confidently on their own. According to the release, each palette offers endless ways to refresh a space and layer into existing décor for a fresh and cohesive, grounded look.
