The supplier of Boar’s Head pecorino Romano cheese, Ambriola Company, is recalling select products due to potential listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The following Boar’s Head products are included in the recall: Boar’s Head Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese, 6 ounces, UPC 0-42421-05858, and sell-by dates 11/21/25–3/12/26Boar’s Head Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese in foodservice-sized bags, UPC 042421-15119, and sell-by dates 11/21/25–3/12/26 According to the FDA, out of an abundance of caution, Boar’s Head is also withdrawing all products that Ambriola Company produces for the company, including items not affected by the recall. This includes the following: Pre-cut 7-ounce wedges of pecorino Romano, UPC 042421-15160 and sell-by dates 11/25/25-5/11/26EverRoast Chicken Caesar Salad, UPC 850042244142 and best-by dates 11/9/2025-11/22/2025EverRoast Chicken Caesar Wrap, UPC 85004224455 and best-by dates 11/9/2025-11/22/2025 The salad and wrap were distributed to Kroger stores located in Kentucky and Indiana. The products were packaged in clear plastic grab-n-go containers of various sizes. "No other Boar's Head products manufactured at any other facility are impacted by this recall." The FDA has classified the recall as Class I, meaning consumption of the products will "cause serious adverse health consequences or death." So far, no illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported. Symptoms of listeria infection vary depending on severity but may include vomiting, muscle aches, fever, headaches, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Symptoms can last from one to three days. It can also cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, older adults, and others with weakened immune systems, as well as miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. If you bought any of the recalled products, do not consume them. Either throw the items away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Some of the products are past their sell-by dates and should no longer be available for purchase.
