If you purchased a new hair dryer within the last 17 months, you should check the product model information as soon as possible. Remington, a popular hair dryer brand, has recalled over 55,000 of their models due to an electric shock risk.

The recalled hair dryer models were sold between March 2024 and June 2025 and are being recalled because they lack a key component that protects against immersion. This missing piece can cause injury or death if the dryer is accidentally dropped into water.

These hair dryers were sold at Walmart, Target, and Amazon for $25 to $32. The affected product details are below:

  • Brand name: Remington
  • Product model number: D3190DCDN
  • Product description: purple with black accents, three black control buttons on the handle, and the Remington logo is written in white lettering

If you own one of the recalled hair dryers, stop using it immediately and request a refund on the manufacturer's website. To complete the recall process, submit a photo of the affected dryer with the power cord cut in half, a piece of paper with your name and date on it, and the receipt, if available. Refunds without a receipt will be for $24.99, the average price of the dryer.

For questions or concerns about the recall, contact Empower Brands at 1-844-695-2134 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or email [email protected].
