Close Credit: Courtesy of Amazon Space heaters are a helpful way to keep warm during winter. But if you have one, you may want to check the label before using it. According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), 8,000 space heaters have been recalled due to electric shock and fire hazard risks. The recall affects Vornado Air's VH2 Whole Room Heaters with a date code of “JUL24” or “AUG24” and “TYPE VH2” printed on the bottom. The space heaters were sold exclusively on Amazon for about $90 between August and October 2024. There's an Active Recall on Quaker Oats Pancake and Waffle Mix in 11 States—Here's What to Know Per CPSC, the space heaters were recalled because the power cord can partially detach from the heater enclosure, which can lead to cord damage over time, posing risks of electric shock and potentially causing a fire. No injuries have been reported so far, but CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Vornado to confirm if their space heater is included in the recall. Further instructions will be provided on how to receive a free replacement heater. Consumers with questions related to the recall can contact Vornado by calling 844-205-7978 or emailing [email protected] from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. Explore more: News Recall News
