Aldi Just Recalled Over 24,000 Pounds of Frozen Chicken and Cheese Taquitos Nationwide The products may be contaminated with metal. Close Credit: ALLEKO / Getty Images The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a recall on frozen chicken and cheese taquitos sold at Aldi due to potential contamination of foreign material. The recall affects 24,870 pounds of the product. Bestway Sandwiches Inc. initiated the recall because the taquitos may be contaminated with metal. “The problem was discovered after the firm notified FSIS that it received a consumer complaint reporting that a piece of metal was found in the frozen chicken and cheese taquito product,” FSIS said in a statement. “Another consumer reported to FSIS to have a dental injury from the product.” The recall affects Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos, which were produced from July 3, 2024 to September 25, 2024. The product has an establishment number of EST. P-40327, UPC 4061459337471, and best-by dates of 07/03/25 and 9/25/25. An example of the product can be found here. Walmart Recalled Over 12,000 Cartons of Chicken Broth Over Spoilage Concerns According to Aldi, the product was sold at select stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. FSIS advises consumers to check their freezers for the recalled product. If you have the product in your possession, throw it away or return it to the place of purchase immediately.
