As 2025 comes to a close, home trend predictions for the new year are on the minds of many. To help you stay in the know, Yelp just released its 2026 Home and Living Trends report. The report reveals that personal expression and creativity are driving the way people design and enjoy their homes, a sentiment that was popular throughout 2025 and will continue into the next calendar year. The data shows homeowners and renters are embracing spaces that feel sentimental and collected, rather than cookie-cutter. Ahead, we're sharing the five home trends Yelp predicts will be everywhere next year.

Homes are expected to feel more personal in 2026, becoming a more accurate reflection of their owners' lives and style. According to Yelp's report, the gallery wall is at the forefront of this personal storytelling movement, with searches for "custom framing near me" up 329 percent and "specialized framing services" up 63 percent.

If you want to create a gallery wall for your home, Tara Lewis, trend expert for Yelp, says a curated look is all about blending memories with unique finds true to you. She recommends visiting thrift stores for frames and taking a look through your own keepsake drawer to find photos or personal keepsakes.

Staircases are so much more than utilitarian, a sentiment more homeowners will share in 2026 as statement staircases take center stage. Per the Yelp report, homeowners are embracing bold fabrics, wood refinishing projects, and playful touches like tiled risers and bold paint colors.

To transform your staircase, Lewis recommends wallpapering risers or laying down a removable runner for a pop of pattern. She notes that these subtle changes are perfect for renters or anyone wanting a quick change. "Even if you don’t have stairs, you can achieve that entryway 'wow factor' with bold rugs, peel-and-stick floor tiles, and details like wall sconces or a statement mirror to elevate the space instantly," she says.

Bathrooms aren't purely functional—they can also serve as a design moment and an opportunity to infuse your home with character. In 2026, Yelp predicts that more homeowners will update their bathrooms with vintage details that offer Old World charm, such as pedestal sinks, brass fixtures, colorful tile, and clawfoot bathtubs.

Wellness Rooms

Whether it's a weekly pilates class or a strict supplement regimen, more and more people are prioritizing their wellness. One way this will continue in 2026 is through home wellness rooms. According to Yelp, these spaces are all about creating a personal, practical haven, tailored to what helps you recharge your battery.

Looking for inspiration for what to put in your wellness room? According to the report, searches for sauna installations, cold plunge tubs, a spot for yoga and pilates, or an area for sound bath healing are on the rise, as is interest for home gym installations, used fitness equipment, and gym equipment stores.

The data also reveals that homeowners are expressing a growing interest in stone tile, talavera tile, and mosaic tile.
