100,000 Mattresses Sold on Amazon Recalled Due to Deadly Fire Risk—Here's What to Know

If you recently updated any bedrooms in your home, check the mattress. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Crayan mattresses sold in twin, full, queen, and king sizes are being recalled because they pose a deadly fire hazard.

About 100,000 of the brand's 10- and 12-inch mattresses do not meet the government's open flame flammability requirements and could result in injury or death. Federal regulations require that mattress sets meet specific flammability standards, including a 30-minute test where the mattress is exposed to an open flame, such as a match or candle, according to the CPSC. The testing aims to reduce deaths and injuries associated with mattress fires by limiting the size of the fire. So far, no injuries have been reported related to the recall.

The single-sided mattresses have a white knit quilted top with the brand name “Crayan” printed on the gray side panel. You'll find the fiber content, size, and “WG/P Foundation” printed on a white label sewn into the mattress cover. The products were sold on Amazon from July 2022 through June 2024 for between $100 and $220 and came compressed in a box.

If you have one of the recalled mattresses, stop using it and contact Crayan to receive a full refund. You will need to mark the mattress with the word “Recalled” in large font with permanent marker across the top panel and submit a photo of the marked mattress to crayan_service@hotmail.com to confirm disposal before receiving a refund. Contact your local waste disposal services to find out how to get rid of the mattress; it should not be donated.
