It's no secret that Pinterest is a treasure trove of home design inspiration. From kitchen makeover ideas to room layouts, the platform is often the first place homeowners go when they're thinking about renovating or updating their spaces. And that includes browsing color choices.
So what are the hottest shades on the rise? Pinterest just dropped its curated lineup of five colors—the Pinterest Palette 2026—which was informed by billions of searches and saves by the platform's 600 million users.
Enter Cool Blue, Jade, Plum Noir, Wasabi, and Persimmon.
According to the platform, these are the shades that are gaining traction among users and are expected to dominate design trends this year and beyond.
The colors were chosen based on search results from September 2024 to August 2025, which were compared to search data from September 2023 to August 2024 to determine which shades saw the greatest increase in user interest.
Here is how these five colors can be incorporated into home design plans.
Cool Blue
This frosty hue of blue saw an 85 percent jump in interest on Pinterest, with "glacier aesthetic" also seeing an increase of 35 percent. Unlike the other stronger shades in the palette, cool blue can be a fun alternative to plain white, especially on kitchen cabinets.
Jade
Somewhere between mint and moss, this earthy shade blends serenity and sophisticated elegance. Pinterest reports that searches for "jade accessories" saw a 135 percent jump, while "jade texture" rose 40 percent. If you're looking to incorporate this color into your home décor, consider an accent table made from a natural stone like Shangri-La or Verde Jade that features green, white, and sometimes black veining.

Plum Noir
Deep and decadent, this shade of rich purple mixes notes of burnt burgundy with velvet brown, and as a paint color, can add drama to any room in your home. Searches for "dark plum" were up 220 percent; "deep burgundy," 230 percent; and "dark purple shades," 40 percent.
Wasabi
Just like a healthy dollop of the pungent Japanese paste, this electric chartreuse provides a vibrant kick to everything. According to Pinterest, searches for "chartreuse green" jumped 175 percent. Even "lime green weddings" saw a 70 percent increase. Not for the faint of heart, the bold hue might work best in small doses, such as bathroom tiles, for example.
Persimmon
Part orange, part red, persimmon is a shade that can brighten up any space. Over the last year, interest in "persimmon aesthetic" rose 100 percent, while the more generic phrase, "orange color combo," was up 75 percent. It's an electric hue that adds a pop of color to décor items like light fixtures, tablescapes, and artwork.
