Martha recently joined Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show to talk about the rerelease of her first book, Entertaining, from 1982, as well as to give a quick tutorial on how she takes the ultimate thirst trap.

Martha announced that her rerelease of Entertaining will be on shelves in early November. She explained that it will be a facsimile copy, meaning none of the contents in the book will be updated—it's the same as the original book published in 1982.

To ensure it's an accurate facsimile edition, Martha left the original dedication to her husband for his "encouragement, good nature and support," as stated in the book—even though he's now her ex-husband and he's "not so nice," she said.

During the show, Barrymore asked for the inside scoop on how shes captures her jaw-dropping selfies. As we all know, Martha is the queen of thirst traps on Instagram. It started in 2020, when she posted an unexpected poolside shot, and then later ended up on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2023.

"You are the queen of thirst traps now you are, I mean seriously, look at this, look at that meow, meow meow. Can I ask, like, can I get your advice? What do I do, Martha?" Barrymore said.

"OK, well, position yourself beautifully and up higher," Martha said.

The two practiced taking the perfect selfie on set using Martha's foolproof method of raising the camera high for the best angle. "And down this way a little bit, yeah, see, see how already you look better," says Martha.

"I really do, by the way," Barrymore replied.

Martha wrapped up the tutorial with her most important piece of advice for a successful thirst trap: "Always go down your face and elongate your neck and then purse your lips a little bit," she said.

"That's hot, Martha. We did it," Barrymore replied.
