Good news, Aldi shoppers! The discount grocer just announced plans to open more than 180 stores across 31 states by the end of 2026. This means, by the end of the year, Aldi will operate nearly 2,800 stores, with plans to reach 3,200 by the end of 2028.

"One in three U.S. households shopped at Aldi this past year, and in 2026 we’re focused on making it even easier for customers to shop our aisles first," said Atty McGrath, CEO of Aldi U.S., in a company announcement. "That means bringing Aldi to even more neighborhoods, upgrading our website, and planning additional distribution centers to keep our shelves stocked with the products our shoppers love."

While the exact locations haven't been announced yet, shoppers can expect the grocer to make its debut in Portland, Maine, and Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado, along with more stories opening in Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Cities across the Southeast region will also see Aldi locations pop up, as the company converts close to 80 existing Southeastern Grocers locations into its stores.

The grocery chain also plans to open three new distribution centers in the next three years in Baldwin, Florida; Goodyear, Arizona; and Aurora, Colorado.

In addition to the expanded footprint, Aldi is redesigning its website. Set to launch in early 2026, the new site will offer tailored product recommendations, expanded nutritional information, shoppable recipes, and built-in tools for meal planning.
