Magnetic wireless chargers sold under the Isla Rae brand are being recalled because they can explode while in use, posing a fire and burn hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The chargers are compatible with magnetic charging systems and attach magnetically to the back of a phone. The products were sold in white, pink, and lavender at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores between June 2024 and March 2025 for $15 and have model numbers RM5PBMDP, RM5PBMSL, or RM5PBMPW, which can be found on the side of the charger below the markings “5000 mAh 3.7V.”
About 13,200 units are included in the recall, along with 7,000 units that were sold in Canada.
If you have one of the Isla Rae magnetic wireless chargers, stop using it immediately. Visit the safety recall website to register and follow the instructions on how to receive a full refund via check. You’ll need to upload a photo of the label that shows the model number, along with “Recalled,” your initials, and the date written on the unit.

After registering, you should dispose of the power bank in accordance with local and state regulations. Do not throw it away in your household trash.
You should never discard a lithium-ion battery or device in the trash, the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores. Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently from other batteries because they present a greater risk of fire.
Your municipal household hazardous waste collection center may accept a recalled lithium-ion battery or device for disposal. Contact the collection center office to find out if they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries. If they don't, contact your municipality for further guidance.
