Football fans are gearing up for this year's Super Bowl, which airs on February 8, and that includes stocking up on snacks for at-home watch parties.

According to Instacart, February consistently ranks as one of the biggest months of the year for game-day food and drinks. To break down the most popular items, the delivery platform released its 2026 Snacktime Report: What Americans are Craving for the Big Game. Using purchasing data from 2025, Instacart revealed the categories, flavors, and regional preferences that define customers' pre-game shopping.

During the weekend of the big game, chips and dips dominate grocery lists nationwide, according to the report, with tortilla chips (up 106 percent compared to the 12-month average) and potato chips (up 32 percent) filling online carts. To accompany those items, purchases of salsas, scallions, queso, and French onion dip also spike significantly.

Other staples, such as buffalo sauce, frozen chicken wings, ranch dressing, and hot sauce, also experience a surge around game time. For example, in 2025, the share of buffalo sauce orders on Instacart increased by 201 percent during the week of the Super Bowl compared to the 12-month average.

In addition to rooting for their home team, fans have their various snacking favorites depending on their region. Instacart reports that queso remains a game-day staple across the West and Upper Midwest, while processed cheeses, such as Velveeta, dominate across the South and Great Plains.

Chicken wings are in the lead across much of the Midwest, Northeast, and parts of the West, and buffalo sauces are most loved in the Northeast, especially New York, which makes sense since the sauce was born in Buffalo, New York. To cool down the spicy sauce, Instacart users are 886 percent more likely to order ranch dressing alongside buffalo sauce than average around the Super Bowl, according to the report.

Here are the most popular foods ordered on Instacart during the Super Bowl.
