She even does it before going to the gym.

Martha is the quintessential morning person, starting her day strictly at 5:45 a.m. And her daily routine doesn't ever veer off course, as she shared during an Amazon Live broadcast of In Bed with Paige DeSorbo.

During the episode, Martha discussed her morning habits, which includes setting three alarms (even though she doesn't really need them). Her day then starts with a Pilates session, but before heading out the door, she always showers and makes a cappuccino.

"You're showering before the gym?," DeSorbo asked. "Oh gosh, yes, I would never go to the gym without showering," Martha said, adding that she wouldn't ever leave her home without showering first. Her a.m. routine also includes skincare and a touch of makeup.

But before she gets out of bed in the morning, Martha says that she reads The New York Times and does the paper's online games, including the crossword puzzle, Wordle, and Letter Boxed.

DeSorbo also asked Martha what she thought of "bed rotting"—when you stay in bed for extended periods, not to sleep but to do activities like eating and watching TV. "I've never done that in my entire life," she said, noting that the longest she's ever stayed in bed was for about 12 hours. "But that's a long time for me," she added.

When Martha is lounging in bed, she does so strictly in a nightgown. "I do not wear pajamas," she told DeSorbo. "I like nightgowns. I don't like things around my waist at night."
