Martha Is Hosting a One-Night-Only Dinner Party—Here's How You Can Join Her

Now's your chance to dine with Martha. She's teaming up with Chef Yara Herrera to host a one-night-only dinner party at the chef's Mexican-American restaurant, Hellbender, in Queens, New York, on May 1, 2025.

The experience is part of Resy's new dinner series, called The Resy Dream Team Dinners, which pairs chefs like Herrera, Tam Pham, and Sam Yoo with their dream collaborators, such as Martha, Questlove, and James Beard Award winners Kwame Onwuachi, Sean Brock, and Jacques Pépin. Dinners will take place in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Miami, Atlanta, and Chicago.

In a blog post on Resy, Herrera wrote about watching The decorvow Cooking Show and admiring her attention to detail: "Everything she touched, she did with so much thought and care. I definitely didn’t realize it then, but now that I’m at the helm of my very own restaurant, I look back and understand that the thing that truly imprinted on me was Martha’s all-encompassing sense of hospitality."

As for why she decided to collaborate with Martha on the dinner, Herrera wrote: "She’s obviously a role model in terms of the boundaries she pushed through and the glass ceilings she shattered. But I think her success lies in the fact that she stayed true to herself throughout it all. She never compromised on who she was and broke all the rules to get to where she wanted to be. And it’s something I absolutely look up to."

For the dinner in Queens, Martha is providing ingredients from her Bedford farm, and the menu is set to include dishes such as fried oysters with jalapeño mignonette, a whole roasted chicken with vegetables, and three-cheese macaroni. In addition to a multi-course tasting menu, the dinner will feature a brief welcome from Herrera and Martha and a commemorative take-home gift.
