The saucepans were sold through food service equipment dealers and retailers from January 1, 2023, to November 30, 2025, in numerous U.S. states, Puerto Rico, and Quebec City, Canada. Lead exposure has no known safe level and is especially dangerous for children and fetuses, potentially causing learning difficulties, lower IQ, behavioral changes, and other serious symptoms at higher levels. Before you turn on the stove, check your cookware. Town Food Service Equipment Co., Inc. of Brooklyn, New York, is recalling its aluminum saucepans because they may be contaminated with lead, which may leach into food, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The saucepans were distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, San Diego, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, and Quebec City, Canada, through food service equipment dealers, including retailers, between January 1, 2023 and November 30, 2025. The aluminum saucepans have capacities ranging from 1 to 3 quarts, have indented graduations on the interior, and have a plated steel handle riveted to the body. The packaging is marked with one of the following item or SKU numbers: Town brand 1 =-Quart Aluminum Saucepan: item number 35400 and SKU 843784003559Town brand 1 1/2-Quart Aluminum Saucepan: item number 35401 and SKU 843784003566Town brand 2-Quart Aluminum Saucepan: item number 35402 and SKU 843784003573Town brand 3-Quart Aluminum Saucepan: item number 35403 and SKU 843784003580 So far, no illnesses have been reported related to the recalled pans. The FDA warns that lead is toxic to humans and can affect people of any age or health status; there is no known safe level of exposure to lead. Even low levels of lead exposure can cause serious health problems, particularly in children and fetuses. At low levels, children may not have obvious symptoms but can still experience difficulties learning, lowered IQ, and behavioral changes. At higher levels of lead exposure, people may experience fatigue, headaches, stomach pain, vomiting, or neurologic changes. Town Food has ceased production and distribution of the saucepans.
