Le Creuset cookware has always been instantly recognizable, with its vibrant colors and timeless shapes. However, the French kitchenware brand is stirring things up as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.

To mark the milestone, Le Creuset has just launched the Modern Heritage Collection, a line of cast-iron kitchenware that puts a modern twist on old classics. The collection includes beloved pieces, including the Round Dutch Oven, Round Braiser, and Oval Gratin, all of which are available in classic Le Creuset colorways like Cerise, Flame, Artichaut, Sea Salt, Oyster, Brioche, and Matte White.

Taking inspiration from its archives with better functionality in mind, the brand has updated some of the cookware features with this new line. For example, the straight side handles of the Dutch oven and braiser are now upturned and scalloped for better grip, while stainless steel handles replace the traditional flat knobs on the lids, which are now smooth instead of ridged. And the rounded edges of the oval gratin—which is ideal for fruit cobblers and casseroles—have become softer and curvier.

These modernized cookware pieces, which range in price from $160 to $420, are still made from the same high-quality materials and will last a lifetime, making them worth the investment.
