The mom of three shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram post with her children and husband, Prince William, by her side. In January, Princess Kate was admitted to the hospital to undergo major abdominal surgery for a condition doctors originally thought was non-cancerous. On March 22, in a video on Instagram, she explained that while the surgery was successful, follow-up tests revealed that an unspecified cancer in its early stages was present. Her medical team advised her to opt for preventative chemotherapy. Nine months later, the Princess of Wales shared that she "cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment." She writes: "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown." The video features a voiceover of Princess Kate talking about her cancer journey (which is the caption of the Instagram post) while touching family photos and videos play across the screen. Clips show her posing in a sundress and tennis shoes while walking in a sunlit forest, while their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, play and jump through the trees, enjoy a picnic, and play a card game together. Princess Kate shares that she's looking forward to appearing in more public engagements in the coming months while continuing to prioritize her health and recovery. The Princess of Wales finished the home movie-esque post by connecting with others on their cancer journey. "I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light so let that light shine bright." Explore more: News
