  1. Trim watermelon:

    Cut top third off watermelon; trim bottom just enough to make a flat surface.

    Working in batches, puree watermelon flesh in a blender.

    Strain through a fine sieve; discard solids. (You should have about 9 cups juice.) Cover rind with plastic wrap.

    Refrigerate juice and rind separately until chilled, about 1 hour and up to 1 day. Combine juice with seltzer in watermelon and stir; serve over ice.

How to Store Leftover Watermelon Punch

Leftover watermelon punch can be refrigerated for up to one day; after that, it may start to lose some of its fizziness. The strained watermelon juice (without seltzer) can be refrigerated for up to 3 days but will taste the freshest within the first day.
