The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) currently recognizes 45 cat breeds, some of which remain smaller than most house cats. While typical house cats weigh between 9 to 10 pounds, certain small breeds stay around 5 pounds. These mini breeds may appeal due to limited living space or their undeniable cuteness.
