Making this gorgeous bright, fruity, and slightly sweet vodka is simple. Our cranberry-and-orange vodka recipe calls for just four ingredients—cranberries, sugar, a piece of orange peel, and vodka. The cranberries are heated with the sugar and a small amount of water, then transferred to the lidded container the vodka will infuse in. Add the orange peel and vodka, stir, cover, and let it sit for at least three days or up to a month. We love the flavor when the spirit has time to really infuse, but you'll get a dramatic cranberry color in just a couple of days. Will you opt for shot glasses of this bittersweet vodka or use it in a favorite cocktail?

Directions

  1. Heat cranberries, sugar, and water:

In a small saucepan, heat cranberries, sugar, and water until the sugar dissolves, the liquid begins to turn a light-pink color, and the cranberries just begin to pop.

  2. Transfer cranberries and liquid to a jar:

Pour the cranberries and the liquid into a large glass jar; stir in peel and vodka.

  3. Infuse:

Cover, and let stand at room temperature at least 3 days or up to one month. Strain before serving.
