If you have an edible garden, you know how challenging it can be to keep wildlife from eating your fruits and vegetables. Critters, including deer, rabbits, chipmunks, and squirrels, love snacking on fresh produce as much as humans do. While it can be frustrating to see the fruits of your labor dwindle, sometimes these visitors are so cute, you might find it hard to resist sharing with them.

That is the case for one Redditor whose raspberries were mysteriously disappearing last season. When she found the culprit—an adorable chipmunk—she decided its presence was worth having a smaller harvest. Like clockwork, the chipmunk has returned to her garden to enjoy the first raspberries of the season.

"We call him Screamy McGee, because he lays on top of the fence and barks and screams early in the morning when the crows and other birds are out and about," the Redditor wrote. "Last year, he would sit on the edge of the fence and eat my raspberries. He just made his debut for the year this morning, screaming a ton."

The woman shared a video of her backyard friend on Reddit—and it's easy to see why she is so willing to share her harvest. In the clip, the cuddly brown chipmunk is seen sitting on a fence, munching away on a raspberry big enough to fit in both of its hands.

Unsurprisingly, other Redditors have fallen in love with the precious animal. Nearly 200 people flooded the comment section, gushing over the chipmunk. "Cutest little buddy! They are always up for mischief but who can deny some raspberries to this tiny friend?" one person wrote. Another said, "What a cutie pie trying to hold a little raspberry with two hands."

Some people even shared their experiences with their own backyard chipmunks. One person commented that they grow raspberries specifically for their resident chipmunk, which they named Chippy. They even mentioned that they dug up most their their raspberries because "they're such a weedy pain in the butt," but kept some in the garden for Chippy to enjoy. "He lives in a drainage hole in my patio, I didn't want to move the grocery store across town on him," they commented.

One Redditor in the comment section expressed their sympathy that the woman's raspberries were being eaten by local animals. She responded: "We’ve got enough to share with him and a few of his buddies. As long as legions of chipmunks and squirrels don’t descend on us, we’ll be good."
