Close Credit: Erik McGregor / Getty Images The holidays will be here before you know it, which means it's already time to start thinking about gift giving. If Target is one of your go-to stores for holiday shopping, you're in luck. The retailer just announced a new price match policy to make gift giving less stressful this season. According to a press release, starting November 1, if you purchase an item in store or online and the price decreases at Target before Christmas Day, you can request a price match. The retailer will also match the price if you buy a qualifying item in stores and then find the identical item for less at Target.com or with a Target Circle deal. Target Is Launching 20,000 New Items This Holiday Season, Mostly Under $20—Here's What to Expect Requesting a price match is easy. Simply provide proof of the current lower price at guest services in your local Target store. For purchases made online or in the Target app, the retailer says to call guest services at 1-800-591-3869 to request a price match. Price matches may be requested at the time of purchase or within 14 days after purchase. There are some guidelines and limitations to be aware of before requesting a price match. According to the press release, the item must be listed and valid at the time of the match. Additionally, the item, brand name, size, weight, color, quantity, and model number must be identical to the discounted product. In-store price matches from other Target stores are excluded. This move from Target is an attempt to simplify the holiday shopping experience for deal-hunting guests. "Value at Target is about feeling a sense of satisfaction that you paid the right price without sacrificing experience, quality or style, no matter when in the season you decide to shop," its website states.
