Close Credit: Courtesy of House of Huber Courtney and Adam Huber are not your average home renovation duo—their mission is much greater. The couple, known as House of Huber on social media, is passionate about restoring and preserving historical properties. With a shared background in fine art, design, and construction, they do work that "extends far beyond the physical transformation of buildings; it lies in the revival of community spirit and the celebration of shared heritage," they say on their website. The Hubers have restored multiple homes across the United States, embracing the unique history and community of each location. In their latest project, restoring the Morse House in Clermont County, Ohio, they took on the challenge of manufacturing, painting, and installing handmade tiles for the bathrooms and kitchen of the home. The couple shared their progress on Instagram and spoke with us about their inspiration for the ambitious project and advice for anyone who wants to try their hand at similar work. "We chose to hand-make all of the tiles for our bathrooms and kitchen because there's a deep fascination for us in the artistry of it," Courtney and Adam tell us. "To us, it's been a challenge we were excited to tackle and a way for us to leave a personal, artistic imprint on the spaces we transform." "Prepare for a mountain of mistakes along the way," they advise anyone pursuing similar projects. "Do not give up, even when there seems to be plenty of opportunities to do so. Despite the challenges, the reward of creating something completely unique and personal to your home is priceless." The project has taken them the better part of a year, and now that the bathroom is complete, they are moving on to install the handmade tiles in their kitchen. "A lot of people thought we were crazy and wasting our time pursuing this venture," they say. "But this time together as a family, learning how to do something incredibly hard and producing something truly one of a kind, has been invaluable." 11 Easy DIY Home Projects That Will Instantly Update Your Space Explore more: DIY Projects & Crafts DIY Home Projects
