Close Credit: Nicholas Klein / Getty Images Despite overall slower home sales across the country and softer prices in many markets, some areas of the U.S. are experiencing a boom. According to Realtor.com's "Hottest Zip Codes" report, towns in the Northeast and Midwest currently have the strongest buyer interest. Based on data from January to June 2025, the rankings considered two factors: market demand, as measured by unique viewers per property on Realtor.com, and the pace of the market as measured by the number of days a listing remains active on the website. The most popular areas are determined by which listings generate the most unique viewers and where homes are selling the fastest. In 2025, the list is dominated by suburban corridors, where buyers can enjoy slower-paced suburban living without sacrificing access to an economic hub such as Boston, Philadelphia, and New York.
