Secret Garden Elegance

When event designer Kate Turner of Kate & Co set the table for this particular celebration, the vision was clear: wildly elegant, intentionally undone. "I wanted the scene to feel like we had plucked a secret garden out of the countryside and tucked it into the coziest corner of a city bistro," she says. "We used fresh-from-the-field blooms layered in earthen vessels [made from] terracotta, ceramic, and hand-thrown textures that bring a beautiful sense of groundedness."

The black café chairs and dark wood table give it a grounding sense of sophistication, allowing the florals to truly pop. The burnt-orange taper candles add the kind of romantic glow that makes you want to pour another glass of wine and stay awhile.

Casual elegance meets coastal charm in this sun-soaked dining room designed by Lauren Winsor of House of Winsor Interiors. "The key to making the table feel more special than an everyday dinner is layering textures—[see] the floral tablecloth, woven chargers, classic white dishes, cloth napkins in bone holders surrounded by gleaming flatware, and elegant stemware."

A blue and white tablecloth, bleached wood, and woven charges lend to the coastal theme while purple flowers bring gorgeous contrast.

Turner opted for a classic American theme with a collegiate edge in this tablescape setup. Here, timeless stripes meet tailored florals and preppy details—like the polo player mugs and fresh white daffodils.

"It’s the dinner party version of your favorite varsity sweater: crisp, confident, and impossibly cool," Turner says. "Our color palette was a mix of blue hues—a woven light blue table linen leading up to darker blue menus atop a layering of crisp white plate. We paired them with bamboo flatware for a moment of warmth and texture."

Wildflower Dream

There’s something inherently magical about blurring the lines between inside and out. For this tablescape, Turner set out to create the illusion of dining in an overgrown wildflower garden where crystal glasses caught the candlelight just so, casting shadows of the florals peeking over each plate.

"The palette was kept intentional and restrained via soft whites, fresh greens, and layers of translucent texture that felt airy yet grounded," Turner says. "We began with a subtly patterned and tone-on-tone table linen, like pressed petals woven into fabric. It served as the perfect base for our layered tableware: creamy ceramic chargers, crisp ivory plates, and a single, elegantly folded napkin."

Queen Anne's lace, lisianthus, pincushion flowers, and climbing greenery were placed with purpose, yet designed to feel like they simply grew there.

Clear chairs and matching glass plates with silver cutlery ties into the theme, while sprigs of greenery lend some natural texture and balance.

Gilded Saturation

This table is proof that bold design can still feel elevated. Designed for a refined evening affair, Turner tells us the inspiration was equal parts English garden and European supper club.

"Our color palette danced between soft romance and confident saturation. The table itself was grounded in texture with a lightly colored linen layered with scalloped porcelain plates and hand-painted edges, brushed gold flatware, and darker linen napkins to add depth," she says. "It’s a balance of tradition and modernity thanks to classic shapes with contemporary touches that feel just right."

Crisp white plates, burlap napkins, and clear glass drinking cups provide balance with their simplicity.
