When it comes to cozy, lived-in color palettes, few can rival Farrow & Ball's selection. The brand has had a series of mega-hits over the years, like Elephant's Breath, a soothing gray with lilac undertones; Down Pipe, a dark gray mixed with blue; and Ammonite, a soothing gray-beige.

It's an incredibly curated lineup of hues—132 to be exact—that's added to and edited only after much deliberation and experimentation. Now that time is upon us once again, as Farrow & Ball is adding 12 grounding new shades to its all-star lineup on February 27—for the first time in over two years.

The "New Colours" collection focuses on the smaller moments in our day-to-day lives. "We all spend more time at home," says Joa Studholme, the brand's color curator. "So it was just finding joy in those things that are around us all the time." The new palette features hues that are highly pigmented but also slightly muted—a collection that feels in line with the ongoing move towards earth tones in the home.

Prime examples of this idea include Douter, a perfect blend of green and gray, and Dibber, a brownish green that Studholme describes as having a sort of "quietness" and being very "down to earth." The latter is quite literal, in fact, as the shade is named after a gardening tool that's used to create holes in the soil for seedlings.

The lineup also has bolder moments, like the faded orange Marmelo, which Studholme already has on her kitchen dresser. Naperon, meanwhile, falls into a similar color family, and its take on faded terracotta feels simultaneously lived-in and warm. Duster is the perfect earthy yellow, and Kakelugn brings a pop of pale blue.

One of the more out-of-the-box moves for the new collection is Farrow & Ball's decision to bring back three archival hues—the first time in the brand's history that it's done so. The reintroduced colors are the burnished Etruscan Red, the lively Sap Green, and the muted Broccoli Brown.

Etruscan Red, in particular, is a sentimental pick, as it was featured on Farrow & Ball's paint tins in the past. "It's a proper, full-circle moment," says Charlotte Cosby, the brand's creative director.

Of course, it's the more neutral colors that will inevitably be everywhere. Scallop, for example, is a white hue with delicate pink undertones that Studholme describes as "incredibly precious" and "just magic." Sizing, also, is a white with hints of blue that makes for the perfect cool-toned backdrop.

These universal neutrals, especially, are indicative of the collection's overall ethos, according to Cosby. "These all feel quite familiar—you can put them up and they feel like your favorite jumper," she says. "You have that lovely relationship."
